Crispy and sweet Air Fryer Hotteok Hack — a healthier twist on the classic Korean pancake made with no deep frying.

Ingredients

Scale

1 pack hotteok mix

180ml lukewarm water

1 small yeast packet (comes with mix)

Sugar filling from hotteok mix

Chopped peanuts or walnuts (optional)

Cooking oil (just a little for hands and board)

Instructions

1. Mix yeast with lukewarm water and dissolve completely.

2. Add hotteok mix to the water and knead for 5 minutes until smooth.

3. Divide dough into small balls.

4. Flatten dough slightly, place 1 tbsp of sugar filling inside, and seal into a round shape.

5. Gently press dough on a floured board so filling doesn’t spill out.

6. Line air fryer with parchment paper or foil.

7. Preheat air fryer to 180°C (350°F).

8. Cook one hotteok at a time for 13–15 minutes until golden and crispy.

9. For extra crunch, flip and air fry 5 more minutes.

10. Serve hot and enjoy gooey sweet filling inside!

Notes

Handle dough with a little oil on your hands to prevent sticking.

Cooking times may vary depending on your air fryer model.

Hot filling can burn, so let hotteok cool slightly before eating.

For a twist, try fillings like chocolate, cinnamon, or even savory cheese.
