Crispy, chewy Korean hotteok made healthier in the air fryer, filled with brown sugar, cinnamon, and pecans.
1 cup warm water
2 tbsp sugar
2 tsp active dry yeast
½ tsp kosher salt
1 tbsp vegetable oil
2 cups all-purpose flour
¾ cup brown sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
2 tbsp chopped pecans
⅓ cup flour (for prep)

1. Mix warm water, sugar, yeast, salt, and oil.
2. Stir in flour and knead into sticky dough.
3. Let rise 1 hour, then deflate and rest 30 mins.
4. Combine brown sugar, cinnamon, pecans for filling.
5. Divide dough into 8 balls, stuff with filling.
6. Seal and shape into filled dough balls.
7. Preheat air fryer to 350°F, lightly oil basket.
8. Place seam side down and air fry 4–5 minutes.
9. Flip, press to flatten, and cook 4–5 more mins.
10. Remove and cool slightly before serving.
Use parchment or silicone liner to prevent sticking.
Add savory or chocolate variations as desired.
